To strengthen higher education cooperation between China and Indonesia and expand the pool of quality students for the "Study in Beijing" program, the Seminar on China-Indonesia Higher Education Cooperation, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, was held on July 8 at the International Cultural Exchange Center of Beijing University of Technology. Chen Jiangfeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of the university, attended the seminar by invitation and delivered a keynote speech.

In his speech, titled "Deepening China-Indonesia Vocational Education Cooperation to Jointly Cultivate Highly Skilled Technical Talents," Chen Jiangfeng highlighted the university's achievements in integrating industry, city, and education, in international cooperation, and in international student education. As the only municipal, public, undergraduate-level vocational university in Beijing, the university has seven professional clusters covering mechanical and electrical engineering, aviation, automotive, integrated circuits (artificial intelligence), biology, economics and management, and the arts. It was rated "Excellent" in Beijing's quality development evaluation of higher education for international students in China, and Chen sincerely welcomed Indonesian students to come to the university to study and exchange ideas. At the end of his speech, Chen Jiangfeng cited the Indonesian proverb "Sedikit demi sedikit, lama-lama menjadi bukit" (little by little) to express his best wishes for deepening cooperation, saying that Beijing Polytechnic University stands ready to work hand in hand with its Indonesian counterparts to cultivate highly skilled technical talents with global competence, contributing to people-to-people and cultural exchanges and educational cooperation between China and Indonesia.

Chen Jiangfeng's speech drew an enthusiastic response from the attendees. During a break in the seminar, leaders from Padang State Polytechnic and Baiturrahmah University, among other Indonesian institutions, proactively expressed a strong desire to advance practical cooperation with the university as soon as possible.

The seminar brought together government and university representatives from Indonesia, including the Padang municipal government, Padang State University, Padang State Polytechnic, Universitas Putra Indonesia (YPTK Padang Campus), Bung Hatta University, Baiturrahmah University, Andalas University, and Padang Institute of Technology, as well as officials from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Beijing International Education Exchange Center, and leaders of municipal universities such as Beijing University of Technology, Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, Beijing Union University, Beijing Information Science and Technology University, and Beijing College of Finance and Commerce. Participants exchanged views on China-Indonesia higher education cooperation, innovation in talent cultivation models, and the building of the "Study in Beijing" brand, laying a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation in the next stage.
