The ceremony was presided over by Wang Donglin, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

On behalf of the university, Chen Jiangfeng extended a warm welcome to all participants. He pointed out that Uzbekistan is a shining pearl on the ancient Silk Road, and China-Uzbekistan friendly exchanges boast a long-standing history. The “Silk Road Beijing” program serves not only as a journey of language and cultural learning, but also a practical classroom for cross-cultural communication. He encouraged participants to experience the profound essence of Chinese culture, perceive the historical heritage and modern vitality of Beijing through one week of Chinese language courses and traditional cultural experiences, and strive to become youthful ambassadors for China-Uzbekistan cultural exchanges and vocational education cooperation.
Nematova Odinabonu, student representative of the study tour group, expressed sincere gratitude to the university for its thoughtful arrangements and warm reception. She stated that the program features rich and diverse courses covering language learning, cultural experiences and vocational understanding. As young representatives from Uzbekistan, the participants will take this opportunity to learn more about China, promote youth exchanges and friendship between the two countries, and contribute to the long-term friendly interactions between Chinese and Uzbek youth.

During the ceremony, attending leaders presented study kits to all teachers and students of the tour group. The kits embody the university’s sincere care for participants’ study and life, as well as best wishes for the full success of the training program.

Following the opening ceremony, Yu Haixia, Vice Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, delivered the opening lecture. She systematically introduced the university’s development history, educational characteristics and practical achievements in international vocational education, helping participants fully understand the campus environment and learning resources. Zhang Yushuang, instructor of the program and teacher from the Foreign Language Teaching Department, elaborated on the schedule arrangements, campus facilities and safety guidelines, laying a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the training program.
Centering on language learning and cultural immersion, the “Silk Road Beijing” Study and Training Program aims to help international participants perceive and understand China through immersive experiences. It further consolidates the foundation of China-Uzbekistan people-to-people exchanges and injects new vitality into the university’s Belt and Road educational cooperation initiatives.
