I. About the University

Founded in 1958, Beijing Polytechnic University is one of the first independently established higher vocational colleges in China and a national model higher vocational university. BPU began admitting international students in 2018. As of 2025, it has a total enrollment of approximately 9,202 students, including over 380 international students pursuing degree programs.

BPU is located in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, covering an area of 813.75 mu (approx. 54.25 hectares). It offers excellent teaching facilities and well-developed infrastructure. The university consists of seven academic schools: Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Aviation Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Integrated Circuits (Artificial Intelligence), Bioengineering, Economics and Management, and Art and Design. It currently offers 14 vocational undergraduate programs and 42 higher vocational diploma programs.

1. Tuition (RMB)

2. Accommodation: 9,600 RMB/person/year (approx. 1,500 USD/person/year)

3. Other expenses during the period of study in China, including visa fees, airfare, insurance and living costs, shall be borne by the students themselves.

IV. Eligibility Requirements

1. Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Language proficiency:

a. Bachelor’s degree programs: Students will be integrated into regular classes; Chinese proficiency of HSK-4 or above is required.

b. Diploma programs: Separate classes will be formed; applicants must have adequate English proficiency.

c. Preparatory program: Separate classes will be formed; applicants must have the corresponding Chinese learning ability, HSK-3 or above, and an average score of no less than 80 (on a 100-point scale) in the last academic year.

3. Age requirements:

a. Bachelor’s degree and diploma programs: Generally between 18-30 years old.

b. Preparatory program: Generally between 18 and 24 years of age.

4. All applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and must not be currently enrolled in any institution in mainland China.

V. Scholarships

The university offers scholarships to support students in their studies. Scholarship recipients and award amounts will be determined based on academic performance. (Please refer to the attachment for the detailed scholarship scheme.)

VI. Application Procedure and Documents

1. Required documents:

a. Beijing Polytechnic University International Student Application Form (Appendix), a copy of the personal information page of the passport, and a copy of the visa page.

b. Diploma of the highest level of education or a pre-graduation certificate (must bear the school’s official seal).  

Note: If applying with a pre-graduation certificate, the expected date of graduation must be clearly stated, and the final diploma must be obtained before enrollment at our university.

c. Official transcripts of all courses taken for the highest level of education (must bear the school’s official seal).

d. HSK score report and/or IELTS score report as required by the program applied for.

e. Non-criminal record certificate (normally issued within 6 months prior to the date of application submission).

f. Physical Examination Form for Foreigners. The examination must cover all the items listed in the form strictly. Incomplete forms, forms without a photo, photos without an embossed seal across the photo, or forms lacking the physician’s signature and the hospital’s stamp are invalid. The examination result is valid for 6 months (must be valid at the time of application).

g. One recent passport-sized, color photo with a white background (no hat).

Note: For any of the above documents that are not in Chinese or English, a notarized Chinese or English translation must be provided.
