Manukau Institute of Technology from New Zealand Visits the University for Cooperation Negotiations

To further expand international education pathways and deepen exchanges and cooperation in vocational education between China and foreign countries, Luca Crosby, Deputy Director of International Operations and Special Projects at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) and Unitec Institute of Technology, and Lou Lanbo, International Marketing Manager of MIT, visited Beijing Polytechnic University on May 20 for special negotiations on academic cooperation and talent cultivation. Relevant administrators and backbone teachers from the School of Automotive Engineering, the School of Integrated Circuits (Artificial Intelligence), and the School of International Education attended the meeting.

Zhu Qingsong, Dean of the School of Automotive Engineering, Yu Haixia, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, and Zhang Ping, teacher from the School of Integrated Circuits (School of Artificial Intelligence), respectively introduced the university’s development overview, program development, training facilities and talent cultivation characteristics of automotive and computer-related majors. Luca Crosby shared advanced practices and international cooperation models of automotive vocational education in New Zealand. Both sides reached preliminary consensus on multiple cooperation areas including faculty and student exchanges, joint training of exchange students, top-up degree programs, credit recognition, joint construction of overseas bases and sharing of teaching resources, laying a solid foundation for interdisciplinary international cooperation. Afterwards, Luca Crosby and his entourage conducted an on-site inspection of the School of Intelligent Connected Vehicles Industry and the Virtual Simulation Training Base for High-end Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing and Maintenance, fully recognizing the university’s distinctive achievements in integrating industry and education.

This exchange marks a key step in the university’s efforts to advance international education and enhance its educational connotation. In-depth collaboration with high-quality overseas institutions has brought global perspectives to the development of the intelligent connected vehicle technology program cluster. It will effectively drive the optimization of talent cultivation models and the upgrading of teaching resources, and provide new ideas for the construction of vocational undergraduate programs. The university will further enhance its educational connotation through international exchanges and upgrade school running quality through professional cooperation, boosting the high-quality development of the university to a new level.
