To gain an in-depth understanding of international students’ study and living conditions and further improve the quality of education, management and services for overseas students, the university held a mid-term symposium for international student representatives on the afternoon of May 12. Administrative faculty from the School of International Education and international student representatives attended the meeting.

During the symposium, international students spoke actively and put forward feedback and suggestions regarding curriculum learning, practical training, campus activities and logistical support. In terms of academics, students hoped that certain courses could be extended with optimized teaching content and that the practical training platform could support passport-based registration to facilitate the use of professional software. For practical training, students expressed their expectations for enterprise visits and internship opportunities, and suggested adding on-site English guidance during training sessions. Regarding campus life, students proposed participating in the university-wide commencement ceremony and setting up shared public kitchens on campus.
Faculty members listened carefully to students’ feedback, responded positively to their concerns, and promised to categorize all suggestions, coordinate with relevant departments to formulate solutions, gradually improve academic and practical training conditions, enrich campus cultural activities, and create a higher-quality learning environment for international students. The participating student representatives expressed gratitude for the university’s care and attention. They shared full confidence in their campus study and life, and pledged to complete their academic studies diligently while further exploring and experiencing Chinese culture.
The symposium has built an effective communication bridge between the university and international students and further enhanced mutual understanding. Moving forward, the university will continue to follow up on international students’ needs, continuously optimize management and services, and foster a more open and inclusive campus atmosphere.
