As a pre-event for this year’s China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), a 8-member Australian education delegation paid an exchange visit to our university on the morning of September 8. Zhang Qihong, Secretary of the Party Committee, received the visitors.

Zhang Qihong stated that the delegation’s visit coincides with the eve of the opening of the 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services. As the Guest Country of Honor for this year’s CIFTIS, Australia has organized nearly 60 institutions and enterprises to form a National Pavilion, which fully demonstrates the shared vision of the two countries to deepen cooperation in trade in services and education.

Iven Michiel, Vice Chancellor of Federation University Australia, said that in the face of new situations and challenges, universities in China and Australia should strengthen cooperation, jointly explore new models of talent cultivation, and inject new impetus into the regional development of their respective countries. Looking forward to the future, he is willing to carry out in-depth cooperation with Beijing Polytechnic University in talent cultivation, program development, scientific research and other fields.

Subsequently, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on future cooperation paths and reached cooperation intentions in student exchange, teacher training, and joint scientific research to promote regional industry-education integration and development.

After the symposium, the Australian education delegation visited the practical training sites of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry College, and the School of Art and Design.

In the afternoon, the delegation went to visit Beijing Soft Robot Technology Co., Ltd. and Zhongye Technology Co., Ltd., which are cooperative enterprises of our university.
