Great News! Teachers and Students of Our School Win the Gold Medal in the "Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Track" of the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition Finals

On August 31, the "Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Track" of the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition Finals concluded at Changchun Polytechnic University. The participating team, guided by teachers Zhang Dongying and Ning Yuansong from the Engineering Training Center and composed of students Wang Zhixiang, Li Xiaofeng, Wang Zi'an and Wang Siyu majoring in Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, won the gold medal in the competition with their outstanding performance.

 With the theme of "Showcasing Youth through Skills, Creating the Future with Abilities", the Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Track of this year's competition is oriented towards students majoring in mechanical design and manufacturing. It focuses on job groups such as basic manufacturing and equipment maintenance, mold manufacturing, additive manufacturing, CNC machining, digital and intelligent manufacturing, quality inspection and production management. Guided by the core concept of "innovation-driven, integration of industry and education", it promotes the development of key technologies such as intelligent manufacturing, precision machining and automated inspection, cultivates high-quality technical and skilled talents with engineering practice capabilities and innovative thinking, and empowers technological innovation and process breakthroughs in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing. After fierce competitions at the provincial and municipal levels, a total of 157 teams from across the country stood on the national competition stage to compete with each other.

 The entry of the Engineering Training Center, titled "Process Innovation and Digital Verification of U-Shaped Protective Cover for Major National Equipment", closely aligned with the theme of the track. The project organically integrated cutting-edge technologies such as CNC machining, material application, automatic control and additive manufacturing, and finally formed a solution with strong innovation and outstanding competitiveness. With exquisite operational skills, solid professional foundation and excellent on-site presentation, the contestants stood out in the fierce competition and won the gold medal.

 Behind the honor lies the team's all-out efforts to make the most of every minute during the preparation. Facing the dual challenges of tight schedule and high technical difficulty, the guiding teachers and team members demonstrated a high degree of cohesion and efficient execution. The team quickly completed the division of labor, continuously polished the plan, and continuously optimized and simulated key links such as design ideas, process flows and equipment operation. While solidifying the foundation of skills, they actively explored innovative paths for interdisciplinary integration.

 The achievement of this gold medal not only embodies the hard work of the participating teachers and students who fought day and night for excellence, but also benefits from the strong support of the school leaders and the high attention and comprehensive guarantee of the Engineering Training Center. All departments of the center provided coordinated support, offering first-class facility resources, sufficient technical support and sound logistics services for the training, ensuring that the team could focus on preparing for the competition. Zhen Xuesong, Chen Yunhai and Jin Yu from the Engineering Practice Teaching Department of the Engineering Training Center leveraged their experience in guiding competitions to sort out ideas and refine technologies for the team, providing strong support for the team's participation. This championship fully demonstrates the school's level of cultivating technical and skilled talents in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing and its achievements in innovative practical teaching, and also accumulates important experience for future competitions. Next, the team will systematically summarize the experience of this competition, and strive to achieve greater success in future competitions by continuously optimizing training strategies, strengthening technical collaboration and innovative application, so as to inject new impetus and glory into the high-quality development of the school.
