On August 27, the "Aviation Transportation Track" of the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition Finals concluded successfully at Chengdu Aeronautic Polytechnic University and Sichuan Aerospace Vocational  College. The team composed of three students from the 2023-level UAV Application Technology major—Hu Yashi, Bai Hongjie, and Zhou Qunchao—guided by teachers Zhang Di and Zhang Lirong from the School of Aeronautical Engineering, won the gold medal. Another team, consisting of three students from the 2023-level Aircraft Electromechanical Equipment Maintenance major—Song Yumeng, Sun Keming, and Gao Zijun—guided by teachers Bai Chao and Liu Zhijun from the same school, won the silver medal.

A total of 146 teams from across the country participated in this competition. The 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition adheres to the guidance of industrial and sectoral needs, closely aligns with national strategies, key industries, and the requirements of industrial transformation and upgrading, and conducts competitions based on tracks. According to the track settings, combined with their majors and actual teaching situations, participating teams independently determined the names and contents of their competition projects, selected competition equipment, and demonstrated real skills by focusing on real problems and scenarios in frontline production, management, and services. During the competition, teams also needed to carry out skill operations and on-site explanations simultaneously in accordance with project tasks and team division of labor.

The two representative teams of our school in the "Aviation Transportation Track" took "Air-Ground Coordination: Operation Support for Post-Disaster Search and Rescue Systems" and "Adhering to Standards, Consolidating Safety Assurance: Maintenance and Inspection of C919 Aircraft" as their project themes respectively. They fully demonstrated their proficiency in professional skills, compliance with standards, and innovative capabilities in solving technical problems. With exquisite technology, solid skills, and outstanding literacy, they stood out among many participating teams and achieved excellent results.

The acquisition of this honor not only showcases the achievements of the participating teachers and students through hard training but also reflects the remarkable effectiveness of our school in cultivating the comprehensive abilities of skilled talents. Since November 2024, the School of Aeronautical Engineering has established a team of guiding teachers and organized student training during spare time and weekends. To achieve excellent results in this competition, the two participating teacher-student teams even gave up the entire summer vacation and devoted themselves fully to training. During the preparation period, the teacher-student teams faced hardships bravely, took on challenges, polished their competition projects repeatedly, and dedicated themselves to each training session with a strong sense of responsibility and mission. Meanwhile, the school leaders and the Academic Affairs Office attached great importance to and strongly supported the team, visiting the training site in person to provide guidance and condolences. All departments of the School of Aeronautical Engineering collaborated closely to provide strong guarantees for the participating teams.

The School of Aeronautical Engineering will continue to take skill competitions as a carrier, give play to the leading role of competitions in professional construction and teaching reform, enhance the adaptability of talent cultivation to industrial needs, and contribute to the cultivation of high-skilled talents who can adapt to new technological changes and industrial development.
