Recently, the Beijing Final of the 3rd National College Students Career Planning Competition, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, came to a successful conclusion. Guided by the competition’s spirit of "promoting learning, teaching and employment through competition", Beijing Polytechnic University won 1 gold medal in the Curriculum Teaching Track, 8 gold medals and 2 silver medals in the Student Track, ranking first in the number of gold medals among vocational colleges in Beijing. Sixteen faculty members were awarded the title of "Excellent Instructor", and the university received the "Outstanding Contribution Award", setting a new record in its history.

Under the theme of "Dream Youth with Global Aspirations, Career Planning for a Bright Future", the competition consists of three tracks: Growth Track, Employment Track and Curriculum Teaching Track, adopting a three-level competition system including university, municipal and national finals. A total of 242,000 students from 92 colleges and universities in Beijing registered for the competition, reaching a record-high participation scale. Eventually, 755 participants advanced to the Beijing Final, where 122 gold medals, 182 silver medals and 377 bronze medals at the municipal level were selected. Both the standard and competitiveness of the event reached new highs.
The university attached great importance to this competition and regarded it as an important measure to deepen career education and improve the quality of talent development. University leaders arranged and promoted the preparation work. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of the Admissions and Employment Office took the lead in building a systematic competition preparation system and innovatively implemented a "three-stage progressive" training program. Full mobilization was carried out through both online and offline channels to extensively motivate teachers and students. All secondary colleges responded actively and made careful arrangements, with 3,276 participants from the university, representing a 130% increase over the previous session, marking a substantial rise in both coverage and enthusiasm. After layers of selection including preliminary contests at secondary colleges, online evaluation and roadshows at the university level, all 10 candidates recommended by the university advanced to the Beijing Final (7 in the Growth Track and 3 in the Employment Track) with zero eliminations, laying a solid foundation for the outstanding achievements and fully demonstrating the effectiveness of full coverage and precise training in the university’s career education.

The university has long adhered to the education model of "promoting learning, teaching and development through competition". Led by competitions, it has effectively improved students’ career awareness, planning ability and comprehensive literacy, guided students to establish correct views on growth, success, career choice and employment, and significantly promoted teachers’ guidance capabilities and curriculum construction quality, forming a sound pattern of in-depth integration and coordinated development of career education and talent cultivation.

In the future, the university will continue to implement the relevant work requirements of the central government and Beijing Municipality, thoroughly inherit and practice the spirit of the National Career Planning Competition. Taking competitions as a key measure, it will systematically promote students’ career planning and development guidance, continuously improve the integrated education system of "cognition-practice-development", and build an all-round, full-chain support mechanism for student growth. The university will further strengthen the construction of career planning courses, enhance the professional level of teachers’ guidance, build higher-quality platforms for students’ growth and success, strive to cultivate high-quality applied talents with firm convictions, comprehensive literacy and outstanding capabilities, and contribute to promoting high-quality and full employment of college graduates.
