University Receives Visit from German Vocational Education Delegation and Holds Unveiling Ceremony for "German DBA Vocational Trainer Academy"

On the morning of June 19, a German vocational education delegation, led by Norman Holtz – Vice President of the German Federal Association of Corporate Vocational Trainers and Professor at Berlin BBW University of Applied Sciences – visited our university and attended the unveiling ceremony of the "German DBA Vocational Trainer Academy". Xin Xiulan, Vice President of our university, received the delegation.

At the symposium, on behalf of the university, Xin Xiulan extended a warm welcome to the delegation and highlighted the university’s innovative practices in university-enterprise cooperation, integration of industry and education, as well as social training and services. She pointed out that as the only university in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, the university has fully leveraged its geographical advantages by introducing leading enterprises in the industry to build an "Industry-Education Integration Engineering Center"; it has also integrated functions such as teaching, research, production services, and technology transformation to create a high-level vocational education platform. Meanwhile, relying on a number of national-level training bases, the university has accumulated rich experience in skilled talent cultivation and social training services, providing strong support for regional economic development.

German experts from the delegation congratulated our university on its upgrade to a public undergraduate-level vocational college directly under Beijing Municipality and highly praised the university’s innovative explorations and fruitful achievements in the field of vocational education. Norman Holtz and other delegation members, including Andreas Strutz, Olga Koch, and Alexander Huwart, shared advanced experiences of German vocational education focusing on teacher training, joint scientific research, and technology achievement transformation respectively, and expressed their willingness to carry out in-depth cooperation with our university.

Finally, Norman Holtz unveiled the plaque for the university, marking the official launch of cooperation between the two parties in the field of vocational education teacher training.

Prior to the symposium, the delegation visited the practical training sites of the School of Aeronautical Engineering, School of Integrated Circuits, and School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Relevant personnel from departments including Science and Technology Division, Division of International Cooperation &Exchange (Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), School of Continuing Education, and School of International Education also participated in this event.
