On the afternoon of September 19, the first International Exchange Week of Beijing Polytechnic University (BPU) was launched. With the theme of "Spreading Charms from the Capital, Forging Craftsman Spirits at BPU, the opening ceremony was attended by over 200 participants, including international exchange students from New Zealand and Malaysia, international students from Tunisia, Tajikistan and South Africa, as well as Chinese teachers and students.

In his speech, Wang Wei mentioned that General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that "we should deepen exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations and promote Chinese culture to make greater contributions to the world".

In the cultural display session, Chinese teachers and students of BPU, international students from Tunisia studying in China, and visiting students from New Zealand and Malaysia respectively presented cultural programs with strong ethnic characteristics.

In the Master Lecture session, the university invited Professor Alexander Jesse from Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences in Germany to give a lecture titled *Cutting-Edge Artificial Intelligence Technology and Industrial Practice*.

In the subsequent activities of the Exchange Week, the university has designed a variety of distinctive activities ranging from cultural visits, vocational education experience to traditional Chinese culture exchanges.

In the future, taking this Exchange Week as an opportunity, BPU will further promote the university’s international education to a new level, build a broader exchange platform for Chinese and foreign teachers and students, and contribute to the cultivation of international talents.
